.... Kimi couldn't win for last two seasons with all cars on the track, but now it was just like watching Schumy, he won first race without any problems and Barichelo was always near top with Ferrari and last season he didn't do nothing..... so Schumy isn't so great after all, it's all about Ferrari!!!!!

I agree 100%! I never saw the "greatness" of Schumacher! I mean, he was so far up Bernie's *** that he did anything he wanted and got away with it! If there was any decision to be made, it went in his favour. He always needed some sort of help. Well, to put it in less words, he cheated and got away with murder!!
It is all about Ferrari unfortunately!

The two are intertwined together. You can't have one without the other. Look at Alonso and Fischella. Both had the same cars and Alonso won 14 to Fisi 2. You can't say it is about money because Toyota spends the most money and they haven't won a race. Renault has half the budget of Ferrari but put 2 championships together. That lets you know that it is both the driver and car package that makes the difference. Massa is not a bad driver either. He spent a year at Ferrari testing and then got some good racing experience at sauber which also let massa test with Ferrari. Don't just assume that anybody could jump in a Ferrari and win. Also, Michael was the number one driver at Ferrari, and they only let Rubens win when it wasn't a detriment to Shumi's championship. Now Michael is one of the best when it comes to developing a car and getting the most out of it. Kimi doesn't do well with developing a car but he can drive the hell out of it. And that is what makes up for Kimi not being a good developer. To the guy that said that Kimi burns up engines, well, different drivers use different engines at the tracks. You don't know what cycle Kimi's engine was on when they broke. Montoya couldn't get the speed out of the car the kimi could. F1 is a complex sport and stupid one line answers aren't going to explain the many parameters and circumstances that F1 has. Do some research before you just assume that people can jump from car to car and just be fast.

Kimi did prove that Ferrari can make the best cars, but he also proved that with a reliable car he can win. Kimi has led a lot of races and never won because the McLaren failed on him. What Schumacher did with a Ferrari is nothing to take lightly. As we know from other Ferrari racers and the team they were in the past, Schumacher is a very talented driver who can make things happen with the car. The combination of the 2 was a formula that will not soon be matched by anyone. He not only drove in a spectacular way, but he helped to build a team from a state of repeated failure. I don't think it is fair to give the car or team all the credit, but they do deserve loads for making it look so easy. Kimi will always be one of the fastest drivers on the grid and I think with Ferrari he will finally show what we have all expected to see. Him winning races.

Not quite... first, Kimi was not winless the last two seasons. In 2005 he had race wins, and actually led more laps on the season than Alonso. The lack or reliability on the Mclaren he drove was likely a key factor in his deciding to head to Ferrari.

And, from judging on one race, does this mean that since Alonso didn't win that he's just a so-so driver and it was the Renault? Of course not. Schumacher was (and likely still is) a great driver. He was one of many talented people at Ferrari, and both as a driver in the race and as a source of feedback to the engineers, he was one of the most important cogs in the Ferrari machine.

Michael Schumacher had many teammates while at Ferrari, and in his time before Ferrari... he had notably more success than all of them. A great driver can win races without a good or great car, but the level of competition is such that the driver alone will not be able to do it often enough to compete for a championship without the car. Likewise, a good or solid driver (like Rubens) in a great car will occassionally win and be competitive, but the car alone will not be enough to win a championship. If you have both, then you can have a championship!

With a great driver in Alonso and a top notch car, Renault won Championships. With Michael Schumacher and great car, Ferrari won alot of Championships. With a great driver, and a fast, but very unreliable car, Kimi led alot of laps but came up short in the championship... now he has a chance to have the whole package. He has a good start, but he and the team still have to make it all the way.

no. schumy was winning races with beneton and jordan in his 1st 2 seasons in F1. but it is still partially correct that the ferrari is a great car because both barichelo and massa were at the top spots when they drive ferraris

but not so fast about saying that schumy isn't so great and the car is the one thats great. sure barichelo and massa were at the top of their game but they coudn't outlast schumy's performance in the ferrari and they couldn't even come close to beating him in terms of points and they didn't win 7 world titles and they don't have the most pole positions and most wins in a career and they didn't set the fastest lap times for almost all the race tracks.

Im a great fan of Ferrari as well as Schumi, so in any way I cant let him down.. History says that Schumi had worked alot technically to develop Ferrari when Ferrari was a ailing team during his shift from Benneton..So, It can be said that its a team work which paved their way to the podium, Kimi is doing the job what Shumi did during his period i.e., Winning...........NMN

i would say the opposite, the only reason Ferrari achieved so much was because schumacher helped develop the car, in a recent issue of road and track the people from shell said Michale could tell when they wher experimenting with a new
crank shaft lubricant, and dont forget that Ferrari was all but junk before he arrived, also remember that Fernando's first championship would have been kimis if the mclaren was more reliable, in that season i believe he had more wins than Alonso, and retired something like 4 times with the lead

Rowdy Rick, you sir, are an idiot! You are typical of the MS haters who think Ferrari just magically made championship cars. What a joke. Stick to what you know!! Ferrari would be on par with the Honda and Red Bull if not for Michael's ability to give the engineers the useable feedback to improve all details of the Ferrari, as he had done with Benetton in his youth. Once you have a good car, sheer dollars can maintain for a while. I think the final judgement will be reserved for 5 years after Michael is gone. If the "reds" can maintain after his departure, which I doubt, then you can start to redistribute the accolades.

Kimi will have some success as he is a good driver in a fast car. Massa will also be a force to reckon with, and could have relegated Kimi to second if not for the debacle in qualifying. I just hope Kimi grows a personality someday soon, as his interviews make me want to vomit.

Its not about the car but i think Formula 1 depends on drivers skills, strategy, pit stops etc......no doubt that Ferrari is a very good team....but schumacher was a very good driver......during the first 3-4 years he was in Benetton Renault and had win many grand prixes......and kimi raikkonen is and was good during earlier season with Mercedes and Jaguar.....as i told f1 depends on the driver and on the car which he drives...i think a champion is a combination of good driving skills and good performing team....and it is proven....Kimi+Ferrari=Wining combinaton......

Ferrari make good cars but it it's only about the car then why Alonso was first with Renault and Ferrari were second and now he is second with the Mclaren and Ferrari is first? I depends on the performance of the driver more than the car.
