i'm always about a week and a couple days late on my period. this time i havent had my period since jan. 16th, its now march 20th. i've taken 2 tests and they were both negitive so i've been still drinking on the weekends. now my best friend actaully found out she was pregnant because she drank one night and got really sick. my question is, if your pregnant and you drink are you going to get sick? could i really be pregnant and not be getting sick from liquor or is my period just out of whack?

You will not necessarily get sick. When I found out I was pregnant with twins I realized that I had drank a few times before I knew...but I did not feel sicker because I was pregnant.
You really should get a dr. to do a blood test that could be more conclusive. And maybe check some other things since your period is so late.

Your period could be late for a number of reasons. Due to stress. Due to an ovarian cyst. Due to pregnancy. Due to your uterus didn't form it's lining but your ovary did release an egg. The list goes on.
IF you every think there is a possibility that you may be pregnant, don't drink! or smoke! Every thing that you put into your body goes into your baby's body and has a bigger effect on the baby because it's body is tiny. Alcohol affects your brain and liver and pancreas. Your baby's brain, liver and pancreas is tiny. So don't drink until you know for sure. If you can't go a few weekends without drinking, then you definitely aren't mature and aren't ready to be a mother. Mothers are selfless.
Alcohol can make anyone sick, whether you are preg or no. Each person's body is different and it all depends on how much you drank and what you drank.
See an OB-GYN this week and get a blood preg test. They are 100% accurate, versus the urine tests you buy in the store.

well it could be both. alcohol does affect pregnancy, and that is why the doctor recommends that if you are pregnant you're not doing and drugs or alcohol, and monitoring the amount of spicy foods that you put into your system. but it is possible to be pregnant, still drinking and not getting sick, but its not that likely. everyones immune system is different, so take that in account. but, you "could" just have a whack period. if you're doing sports and stuff, it is common that it would skip months. but once i only got my period 4 times a month and i wasnt doing sports or anything, just had a hack period lol. talk to a doctor if the behavior continues.

You need to get in to see an ob/gyn...they can do a blood test to confirm your results. And figure out why your periods are so messed up. As for getting sick if you drink...it depends on the pregnancy, each one is different...don't forget, some people are more prone to be sick when drinking anyway. Just like not everyone gets hangovers....good luck.

I think a lot of women get drunk and sick and realize they are pregnant I wish if you are late you would not drink it's not that hard to stay sober sometimes you'd be a good biit in to the pregnancy and fetal alcohol syndrome is serious!! Sorry if this is harsh but I know so many people who can't get pregnant and they 'd never dream of drinking even if they slightly suspected pregnancy '' by the way if you are trying to get pregnant you should try to be as healthy as possible''

There are many reasons why this could be happening to you, one could be a birth control side affect, your cycle is changing, pregnancy in your tubes, or a cyst on your ovaries, etc. it can be a number of reasons why you're having this problem but the best thing to do is see a doctor immediately because there is a serious problem going on with your body that needs to be looked at,
PS - it is good to use someone else advise or opinion, but when it comes to health issues always see a doctor.

The tests can be wrong...you need to go to the doctor immediately. They will take a blood test and tell you for sure. Drinking while pregnant can cause bone defects in your baby or even missing limbs, don't drink until you know.

you will still get sick.
I didnt realize i was pregnant and had a few drinks here and there and they just made me sick to my stomach.
if you're late and you are unsure on whether you are pregnant or not, you really should stop drinking until you get your results (a period, or it comes positive on a test)
the smallest bit of alcohol can effect the unborn child.
