i have an extention lead in a seperate roome and would like to use my computor in there i have a bt phone socket in place

You need splitters from BT. I take it you have the main phone line downstairs and an extension upstairs so you will need twosplitters. plug one splitter in the main box and then connect your main phone plug in one socket and the extension in the other. Do the same on the upstairs line plugging one socket from your phone into the splitter and then the other into your pc or router

Any computer shop should have them if not you can get them from BT by the way the real name for them are microfilters

It is better to have computer plugged
into master socket, if you run of extensions
you slow down and sometimes disconnect
from internet, get someone to wire your bedroom
socket as master socket..I did and have no problem now..
