Diversity is another one of those words that liberals & neo Marxist thought police are forcing the public to use. Its indoctrination by use of words. Diversity's initial intent was to get organizations to think differently about blacks. It was that diversity would make an organization more robust by adding "diversity" or black people to that environment. It was a way to think about it aside from racial quotas which began to have a negative connotation. The neo Marxist thought police are active in other areas to make immoral behaviors palatable through use of words. these are areas such as gay rights, abortion, euthanasia, legalizing drugs and other Marxist/Socialist areas. Beware of words that mask true meaning and immoral behaviors.

diversity is about valuing the differences between people and putting them in positions where their individula skills will be of more value to an organisation.
Think aboout chairs - they all do the same job, we sit on them
But - is a sofa the best seat for typing at a computer? Would you watch TV sitting on a bar stool?
You can watch TV from a bar stool but you would probably be more comfortable on a sofa.
Now apply this to people, who would you want on your reception desk? Someone who always has a smile and loves meeting new preople or someone who is so shy they are embarrassed they blush if a stranger speaks to them?
BTW that's the difference between equality and diversity - quality says the two people above should do the same work, diversity values their individual qualities.
OK a more real life example - say there has been a bad storm, there is a collapsed building and it is believed someone is trapped - do you send in the 20 stone male fire fighter or the 8 stone female one?
The same fire crew get sent to a fire later in the day - they cannot get to the fire because a ford fiesta is badly parked - which fire fighter(s) will be better able to move the car?
Or an example from sport. imagine you can clone footballers, would you have 11 David Beckham's on your team? Would you have one in goal?

It's about accepting that people are different.
It can be valued by spending time working out the abilities of the individuals in a workforce and placing them in roles which make use of their strengths.
The advantages are that people will work harder at a job which they enjoy and are good at than one that they have been shoe-horned into.
