I have now been on my period for 18 days and counting. It's light- medium flow. I am starting to get a little worried and annoyed. I am only 21 years old and have always had a week long period before like clockwork. Whats going on? Do I need to see the doctor?

YES... Go see your ob/gyn immediately. That is too long to be having a period. Don't ever mess with the abnormal. Seek a doctor right away. It is the preventive care that saves lives.

I actually had this problem when I was younger and I went to the doctors and they finally found out the problem. The problem with me was that I had a low hormone and they just gave a hormone pill to build it up and then it went back to normal. If I were you yes go to the doctor and see if there is something else going on. Are you under alot of stress? That could be something also. Hope this helps you.

Before I was on Birth Control, I has my period for a week, and it stopped for a week, then I had it for three more weeks! it was horrible! I went to my GNY and she said that I was irregularly irregular or not ovulating properly or at all and my body was trying to catch up. She suggested Loestrin 24 Fe Birth Control to regulate it (and it made it very light and short!)

Check with a GYN. Good Luck!
