During pregnancy, your estrogen level rises causing superficial capillaries to dilate. Hard brushing can break them and cause them to bleed. Gums usually swell during pregnancy and it is important to keep up regular dental health because gingivitis is more common- but that is not why your gums are bleeding!

The dilating capillaries may also cause nosebleeds.

I had the same but I read that plenty of vitamin c in you're diet helps decrease the bleeding it worked in my case I still have a little blood but not as much a friend of mine had a dentist give her some kind of ''miracle'' mouthwash and her gums no longer bleed strangely enough I never had this problem with my previous pregnancy!!

My gums have been doing the same thing. It's nothing to be worried about. Pregnancy causes your gums to bleed and your nose to bleed sometimes. I wouldn't be worried.

It could. My gums bled and I had nose bleeds when I was pregnant with my first child. Always check with your doctor to be sure though.

Your bleeding gums could be a sign that you have developed a sensitivity or the start of gingivitis. I would say use a sensitivity toothpaste and/or mouth rinse that kills gingivitis.

It is not uncommon at all. Your body increases its blood flow throughout your body. And many small capularies dialate. Gums can be very sensitive. Make sure you are using a soft toothbrush it might help.
