If there are so many opportunities out there, why isn't there ONE that will front you the money to get started, and take that fee out of your first check?

Because that's not how it works when you start a business. You wouldn't be able to get a store in a mall without paying rent and other start-up costs. Why do you think you can start an at-home business without some investment?
They can't take it out of your check because when you run a business, your income is based on PERFORMANCE and not hours like a regular job. What if you don't perform? Then the corporation loses money.
It takes a different mindset to run a business than it does to work at a job. Both the risks and the rewards are greater but personally, I'd rather accept those risks than be stuck in a cublicle.

The only way to make money is buy a desirable product the public needs at a low price and sell it for a profit.
Here is a suggestion:
Sell Micro-Fiber Towels.
Your target customers would be Home cleaners, Janitors, Churches wanting to do fundraisers, Car detail shops.
You could give away samples and then those customers end up buying over and over again..
Buy them in Bulk for less than $2.49 ea and resell for $5 or $6 ea
Or sell in packages of 2 per package and sell for $10...
(You can sell more for less effort this way.)
You could even create a free web-site at Yahoo to promote.

You can buy as little as 5 cloths to try it out...very low start-up just to see if you will enjoy it. If not, use the 5 for yourself...they work great.

If you are an accomplished typist - word processor and have recently visited your local city college or university librarian, you can apply as a "certified" graduate typist, earning between $1.50 to $2.00 per page for a master or doctoral thesis. The librarian will provide you with a sample of the typing template (i.e., margin settings, font selection, page set up, etc.) in order to complete these projects. b/c they are all scams or marketing pyramids. these places make their money by luring people in with a low intial startup cost, and then bailing on the customer when it comes time to make the money.
it always looks easy on TV, but after you pay them and its all in front of you, it becomes impossible and you just give up. thats how they make the money.
save yours...if you want to work at home, be your own boss and do it Ebay style.
