forgot to say on the dvd bowling for columbine marlyn manson was interviewed and asked what would you say to the boys if they were sitting in front of u before the shooting nd his reply was the greatest ever "I WOULDNT SAY ANYTHING I WOULD LISTEN TO WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY BECAUSE THATS WHAT NO ONE ELSE DID" he right though.
the shooting could have been avoided if america didnt sell guns to young people.

nice question. Marilyn Manson- a singer/performer- or a President that doesn't think twice about basically invading countrys and commiting genocide (killing indiscriminately).
I don't think Marylin Manson ever killed anyone for his buisness buddys!!!

You reap what you sow Bush, not that he cares what happens to the 'little people' in his country!!!!

First off, George W. Bush was not president when Columbine happened. It was Bill Clinton.

Second off, no music does not kill, in my opinion. I think people blame the music as a way to not take responsibility for their own actions. Those Columbine boys who did what they did would have still it even without the music.

OK, it was 1999. Marilyn Manson did not cause these killings in anyway. This is just another way to blame society and not the parents for children's behavior. These children were picked on in school to the point where they had enough. That is why they did what they did. It could have all been avoided if the parents had taken an interest in those boy's lives and paid attention to what was going on in their basement.

Music is an emotional stimulus. Hearing certain music can make you sade, happy, and maybe even angry. It makes you remember things you otherwise wouldn't remember. I certainly don't think music made those boys kill. But, if they were already troubled, music could help them channel their fears and anger and quite possibly inspire them to kill. Marlyn Manson's music didn't put them on some Charles Manson style cult killing spree and he surely didn't intend for his music to have such drastic consequences. But it is entirely possible that troubled children could have found a meaning in the music that was never intended. (Eminem's song Stan makes a good point of that.) Music can't create insanity, but it could certainly help

I think that music is a form of expression, so could in fact do the opposite, help people to express the way they are feeling without having to kill or hurt others. Saying that I think if it did ever have an influence, it would'nt ever just be down to music but to other influences such as films, politics, family upbringing, society pressures and the list goes on and on. Lots of things can influence killings and every person is an individual and unique, so their influences may come from different places!

I don't think so. I reckon those fellas were pretty messed up before they listened to Marilyn Manson. Most normal people can listen to depressing music like that without having to go on a shooting spree. There was obviously a screw loose regardless

Marilyn Manson was not to blame. The right to bear arms was not to blame. The boys who went nuts and shot up their school were to blame. Their actions, their responsibility. There is a culture in the U.S and increasingly in the UK of 'something happenned, who is to blame'
The truth is that sometimes things happen that you just cant legislate for.
Responsibility for an action lays at the door of the perpetrator

Do you not just think its a bit of Darwinisem in action?
I mean they are probably from a school which teaches creationism anyway so the real cause of this tragic event will forever be lost to them.

Music is an easy scapegoat but the realities of those boys life made them psychopaths. Not Marilyn Manson.

Manson couldn't have put it better. The music my AS*! You have to blame the parents. All the police had to do was enter those boys rooms and garages to find incendiary devices and weapons. The parents created those monsters and through their neglect and non-supervision, unleashed them onto the world to murder and create mayhem.
