if i were in your shoes I'd probably try and get a better paid job and, hard as it may be, put my child into nursery or see if you could get a relative or close friend to help you out with child care. It is hard but you will feel a lot better within yourself, have more self esteem ,confidence and a bit of extra cash. Going down the benefits route may seem the easy life option but you wont get all the things out of life you really want without hard work, love, perseverance and self worth. Benefits are for people with no direction in life. please don't end up like that, you are worth so much more!

Have you looked into "Working Families' Tax Credit" rather than benefits? You won't get benefits as such if both you and your husband are working, but look into this tax credit thing and you could get some money -- see link below.

you should try working tax credits, or if you allready receive them, declare and change of circumstances. State benefits depend on the NI contributions youve paid or are means tested unfortunatley, tax credits are the way to go, good luck x

Are you English? Are you white?

Unfortunately, you'd have a much easier time trying to claim benefits if the answer to either or both of these questions was no.
