Do you think they are really arrogant?

I was born in France and lived there for 20 years. I am indian and they never treated me right. they always made fun of my origins since i was around 5 years old :( They are really nice to you if you look or sound like them, but treat you like **** if you're slightly different... very sad.

yes they are quite arrogant. but it's not their fault! they think they have invented the world! let them believe...

It's going to be a big generalisation here, but...
They have great food and a beautiful country, but they're actually really rather conservative and a bit staid; much more so than the Spanish or even the Germans.
I went to Paris for the first time a few months ago (I'd been to other parts of France lots before), and I found people really really friendly. I don't speak French beyond numbers and a few phrase-book things, but a few words and a ready smile can really smooth your path.
I'm sure they would seem arrogant in return if I were to bellow at them in English....

Study their history and you will find a bizarre mix of arrogance & humility.... They are a funny race but they are the first to admit it. The French really have to like 'you' before they like you. A lot of that is territorial - - - their patch of Earth is one of those most desirable oasis imaginable and (rightly so) the French feel privilleged. Their efforts at Democracy have been more absurdist than America's efforts and yet they have endured surving at least two catastropic wars per century since creation. They have earned arrogance.

The French are well different al give them that they have one of the most beautiful countrys ni the world best food and when i was in paris they were really nice i really like the French and dont like i when people bad mouth them :).

I don't know any French people personally so I really can't say. I like just about anyone though and don't group people together because they are not all the same just like any other group of people.

Bad food, good pastry, smelly, invented the BJ, drive like maniacs, money looks like rolling papers, fight with their feet.
Been to Paris twice and lived.

I see a lot in Canada and they are very cultured. They come off as rude and sometimes snobbish, but they are good people.

they are VERY VERY SEXY.....
and french language is also very romantic, hot, and SUPER SEXY !
when somebody is whispering something very nice in your ears.... how can you resist it....
