Take her drive out, and plug it into your pc, on the secondary cable, and run a virus scan on her drive, as long as you dont open any files on her drive your safe.....
If the drive doesnt work on your pc, it may be hardware failure "a dead hard drive", if it does work, and you find a virus, then you will need to reinstall the operating system...
