Yes, they are - but "Persians" are now generally called Iranians.
What was once the "Persian Empire" is now (in large measure) the country of Iran, which is definitely in Asia. Parts of the Persian Empire include parts of present-day Turkey (the eastern, Asian parts - not any part in Europe) and some other sections of the Middle East (all of which are in Asia.)
By the way, they (the Persians/Iranians) are NOT Arabs, though the vast majority of them are Muslims today (with a smattering of Jewish Iranians, Bahai Iranians and even a very few Christian Iranians. ) The language most speak is called Farsi.

My Father will say he's Persian not Iranian.
Persia refers to the Areas in and around Iran at it's height of power Persia included Iran, Turkey, Iraq, parts of Russia even parts of Western China - in total approx one third of the world.
Iran was once the core of Persia and so they sometimes refer to themselves as Persians. After the Persians were converted to Islam the country became Iran...
In Iran people can have either Persian names - like in my family - my name is Dariush. Or they are muslim they will prob have muslim names which tend to be more common.
Apparently the Persians are descendants of the Aryans, who apparently divided into two groups, one travelled being the first settlers of Europe, the other group occupied the areas spanning from Iran to India.
