I don't understand because we all know the U.S. has nuclear capabilities, then when we hear about another country like North Korea, Iran etc.. starts a nuclear program the U.S. gets all concerned. What will happen when the U.S. drops a nuclear bomb on another country? Nothing will happen and when another country uses the same bomb the U.S. wants to go to war.

You talk as if it is ONLY the US that feels this way and that the US is pushing this view upon the rest of the world. That is not reality.

There are 190 nations that are signatories to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, including China, Russia, France and Britain.

All these countries are against rogue countries like North Korea and Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Now, in addition to this treaty and other treaties like it, Bush did put together the Proliferation Security Initiative to actively intercept / interdict shipments of WMD. The following states are party to this activity: Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, Russia, and Singapore, and additionally 40 more states support it.

Now, seeing that non-proliferation is supported by many, many states around the world, why do you focus solely on the US? Unlike your ideas, the US doesn't exist in a vaccuum.

The reason the United States is concerned about countries like North Korea and Iran having nuclear weapons is because both of these countries have stated that they will use these weapons to destroy countries they do not like.
Iran stated that they will not stop until Israel is wiped of the face of the map.
North Korea has also stated that they will use them as first strike weapons just because they feel threatened.
The United States will only use nuclear weapons as a response to a nuclear attack by another country.

The U.S. Policy on using nuclear weapons is in retaliation, only.

The U.S. is concerned not in that some countries are developing nuclear weapons, but which countries are developing nuclear weapons.

There are several countries, including England, India, and Russia, to name a few which possess nuclear armaments. The U.S. has worked diligently with these nations to ensure that these weapons are used as a last resort, only.

North Korea, Iran and other rogue nations that are trying to develope nuclear weapons are more likely to use these weapons against the U.S. and its allies without provocation.

These rogue nations are not part of the nuclear arms treaties and will not agree to terms deemed reasonable by the other nuclear powers.

Typical liberal response, You want to put the USA and North Korea and Iran on the same table. America is a beacon of truth in a world full of terrorists and haters. America is the lone superpower in the world because of our greatness. America is interested in having a nuclear free Middle East and Korean peninsula. Are you for these countries to have nuclear weapons and start another arms race. That is very unpatriotic of you. America is the best country in the world and you should leave because you hate it

I think that there are any number of questions you need to ask yourself about this.

1. Educational level and performance level of these countries
2. Financial ability to create security of these weapons
3. Governance of the country, the structure and control
4. Stability of the country
5. Social and Moral Adherence to Human Rights and World Community Requirements

Further, the U.S. created NATO as a peace keeping force to prevent Europe from having to arm itself. The US has led the battle for nuclear disarmament that assisted us in the Cold War era to take down the arsenal of these weapons.

The danger to the earth is unspeakable. The continuation of human life and the quality of life on earth is threatened by this to the extent that our earth could become uninhabitable. It is not an argument for the use of power, it is an argument about the immoral quest for destruction.

It is not that they are trying to make war with North Korea ,Iran etc.I personally feel that it is their true intentions to prevent war from happening not to mention world unity between the countries Maybe it's just that the American government doesn't have enough qualified personal to do their job in concerns of dealing with nuclear peace agreements between different countries. It seems to me that every time there is to be a negotiation between the countries every thing turns bitter.I personally feel that if they were to compromise and to have an agreement between them .They would understand that by working together one can achieve a greater understanding not to mention in reference of world unity of futuristic designs .......

Countries that seek nuclear capability upset the balance of power.

To avoid a nuclear arms race, this careful balance must be preserved

Because we aren't going to use the bomb as a combat weapon. It is meant to be a deterrant for other countries to stay in good standing in the world. If someone like that pug nosed dictator Kim Jong IL ever gets one he will launch it at whichever target he can point it at first. If Iran ever gets the bomb they will, with the backing of Russia, launch on Israel and then we will be into the great tribulation spoken of in the book of Revelation.
The USA, China, Israel, France, Great Britain, Russia and a couple of other countries maintain atomic weapon stocks as a deterrant for all of the other wannabe's out their that have world domination ambitions.

I would like to agree with all the other comments, but also, America has the most treaties, so really other countries have relied on us to protect them. Another thing, the leaders of those countries most have been guilty of genocide, If they do that to their own people imagine what they would do to the rest of us. It does appear that the US have stuck their nose in everyone else's business, but like I said for the most part, there's been an invitation. Besides the leaders of other countries are crazy, our president isn't crazy just really really really really stupid. He's really quite embarrassing. The thing that makes it worse is so many Americans voted for him based on how he's against abortion, or he's supposed to be a good old christian boy. WTFE (I didn't vote for him, either times)
