homosexuality and alternative sexual practise?
More people are proudly out and gay, or lesbian, or transexual, or trangendered.
Isn't it that maybe the human consiousness is reverting to its natural state, where gender, skin colour, religion, doesnt make a difference?
Like it was before humans invented hate for someone being different. (If it ever was that way to begin with)
Are we maybe moving towards enlightenment and completion, moving towards the next human evolutionary step?
Where the soul is the important bit, and not the body and the skin colour?

Please, no homophobes. We know you are all closet cases in any way.

I am a 100% straight white women and I believe what youre saying could possible true. Once I brought home a colored man and I remember explaining all the right reason's for me to date him to my parents and getting mad bcause they were closed minded at the time and wasnt seeing life the right way. So I can feel you on this and maybe we are slowly moving into enlightment but there are always gonna be that group of people who are miserable and dont want anyone to be happy. Misery Loves Company. You have a excellent point though

Your suggestion would be a dream come true, if only it were true. Unfortunately, I don't think that homosexuality is the answer to "enlightenment and completion." If this is the way it was meant to happen, then it would have happened a long time ago.

Homosexuality and it's acceptability has been around, even as far back as the Roman and the Greek Empires, when it was a very common, and a socially acceptable norm. It's only recently that we seem to have taken a small U-turn by applying these taboos and "weirdness" to homosexuality. But throughout history we have been exposed to it, and have accepted it. So where is our enlightenment and completion? There are still human cries of poverty, wars, religious conflicts, cultural barriers, breakdown of human values, social disorder, and distruction of our precious enviornment. And it is taking place in just about every part of the world. Can you honestly call all this chaos the "enlightenment and completion" of the human species?

More than anything else, what we need today is a dettachment from our materialistic way of life. We don't have to be "tree-huggers" as someone suggested, but we certainly need to give a part of ourselves in the service of others, instead of participating in the "me" generation. Without this sort of sincere commitment, your wonderful words, albeit very profound and hopeful, are just that.. simple words.

Homosexuality has nothing to do with obtaining enlightenment and completion, I am afraid. But what a noble thought you had!

Sweet idea, but nope. Sorry.

First of all, the concept of "natural state" is rather woolly. If you mean the state in which our earliest human ancestors lived, I'm afraid I think gender, skin colour and religion (if it existed then) probably made just as much, if not more, of a difference---though the way this was expressed might have been different.

We didn't invent hate: it's built into us. But it can be good: I'm sure you hate injustice and prejudice. In that case your hate can drive you to try to change things for the better.

And I'm also afraid that evolution doesn't work in the way you seem to imagine.

But if we can create the right social structures to rise above the hate and inclinations towards prejudice that evolution has given us (and don't forget that love and our sense of morality are just as much the product of our evolution), then I think that'll be a very good thing.

But let's not be woolly about it.

We can always hope so!
There needs to be new ways of viewing the world, and if the human race is to survive, I think the struggle we've called gay rights is going to turn into something so positive and life affirming that we only have a small glimpse of the possibilities today.
Think about the core value of "Honesty regarding sex".
Consider also the inadvertent societal purpose manipulating people into being dishonest about sexuality-"They become very confused and easy to control".
Imagine a world where we can be honest about sexuality and where coaches, preachers, teachers and drill instructors can't make people insecure and obedient out of fear that they may be gay!
How many tyrannies lose power when that occurs?

You have the right idea: There is a historical correlation between the project in each society to create laws (given legal authority by the endorsement of religion), which prevents heterosexual men from fighting over women and property. This is the foundation of most traditional systems of law and culture.

As civilisation becomes more organized and efficient, the older legal paradigms, based upon religious guides, become irrelevant. Consequently, there is a tendancy toward a relaxed, secular attitude toward sexuality in general.

Whenever the assurances of modern legal/economic organizations are challenged, people seek refuge is older reliable models, hence the inclination toward fundamentalist religious extremes among Americans and Arabs.

Americans run to God to reclaim their primitive roots, and Arabs run to God to defend themselves against modern life, which they see as threatening. In both cases, sexual minorities get the short end of the stick.

one could only hope this is true. it's a really sad state when people claim to be religious....and then "use" their religious teachings, out of context and translated to suit their sad purpose, to pass judgment upon others and preach hatred and intolerance. those are the true sinners in this world. those are the ones who start violence, who harass, who abuse, assault, and start wars. how can we be "sinners" for being the way God created us? whether it's sexual orientation, race, religion or culture....we are all equally human and we all share the same planet.

I've heard of African tribes that war and hate because, although their similar in most ways, their nose shape is different. It's sad, but I think the hate is built-in and it's our job to grow above it.

dont mean to offend you but you come across as a tree hugger.if as you suggest the human race is changing in that type of direction and we all become sausage jockeys the human race would die out.so no homosexuality is not normal im afraid.you can love someone of the same sex but to practice anal sex with another man for instance is just plain wrong.
