I have an idea for how I want the pictures to look, but I am curious how I can find someone to draw them. Also, how do I go about submitting the draft to a publisher? What are the steps to follow when trying to get a book published?

What are the steps to follow when trying to get a book published? Are there websites I can go to to check out publishers? Also, do you know anyone who would want to draw the pictures for me? THANKS!

The publisher will assign an illustrator. As a first time author, you have no clout in that dept, although I am sure they'd be interested in your ideas.

Go to the library and get a book called Writer's Market. There are also books on how to write and publish children's books. They will tell you what publisher's to send it to, in what format, and what to expect from the process.

First try local colleges or art schools and try to find an art student to draw the pictures you want. They are affordable due to they always are in need of money. They be sure you get a copy right filed prior to sending it out to book company's so that nobody steals it. Then send it to local publishers but it should be cent certified so that you know they received it and nobody else received it. If you do not send it certified you would be OK as long as you got a copy right. Good Luck

nicely, from what i have considered, you've already got to be commonly used. are you able to sing, act or do something else to make you commonly used. then you definitely can post a baby's e book, no sweat. Like Madonna. are you able to tell that i'm a (pissed off) aspiring youngster's e book author??

I do know someone who could do it. My brother is an excellent artist and illustrated some memory books for a guy named Lucas I think.

I can put you in touch if you want. We are in Northern California.
