Asking this question singularly implies that we are along the wrong path, or in a bad stead, trying to wind our way back to righteousness. I just wonder if you are asking this question seriously, for this is highly critical of our own kind. We can however look at it in lighter way but I choose to give some Sirius thoughts to the question. I understand that there are problems, there are matter and issues that mankind face on a global scale, that modern civilisation rests mainly upon the dredges of earth that come to the surface, that we like to called the back gold, that there is still war, famine, disease, risk of global pandemics, nuclear catastrophes, gradual communal decay, leading up to breakdown of cultures and civilisations. If we have all this and we are intelligent and free to act then we must had done something wrong along the way that our own endeavours are threatening our own very existence making us so vulnerable on this little planet that the only home we know in the universe.
We can argue that science is to blame, that modern development is in fact an act leading up to more problems than it can find a solution to; we can also blame religion for centuries of confrontation and wars; or on the other hand we can blame our inability to bring faith into our live and relying too much upon reason and intellect; or we can blame our ignorance that we are simply not good enough, the list goes on. But I think we have not done much wrong, and all that we have done; all the phases we have been through were necessary to get to where we are. We would be doing wrong now if we do not put our faith in whatever we have achieved. We can understand that this is not the end, and time of reckoning has not here yet, and that we have capacity to go much further. What we see as chaos and disorder now might in fact be a prelude to something far greater than anything we have experienced this far. Staying positive, hopeful and realistic is the right approach under all situations.

We went wrong when technology was invented, as this has given humans the ability to destroy the planet, which we should be living in harmony with. We drive round in cars which pollute the atmosphere (I do as well) but it is accepted as a 'way of life'. If we look beyond the perception of what is classed as 'normal' we may see that what humans have invented is not merley 'intelligence' but the opposite. We have created the means to an end, how can that be intelligent! We have gone wrong big time!

Politics and government, that's where. They control everything and us "real citizens" have no say so in our own world. That is wrong. Also, way back in the day, when the Devil thought he was better than God, that turned the world upside down and into a different like dimension. OR better yet, when sin was invented cuz Eve ate the apple.

...and if we only could just go back to that point and start the other way... When we crucified Christ? Or any earlier? Maybe we start going "wrong" every morning or every time we slap a child, or shout into somebodies face? 'The road to hell begins from the one little step' that we usually don't notice. But if it's easy to make a step back, to go long way backwards is much more difficult.

We misunderstand the meaning of the idea of love.
A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.
After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.
Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.
I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.
I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.
If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.
I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.
Love and blessings
Your brother

Nowhere. We're doing what we're supposed to. It takes a little longer for some people, but everyone one this planet will have to, eventually, deal with it.
It's a very simple process, but the forces involved are huge:
Ego Vs. Altro
Who do you think will win!0!

There is no right and no wrong. There is only that which serves our world and humanity best and that which does not serve our world and humanity best. And it is up to us to choose which we prefer.
But there is no wrong choice.. and there is no hell. That is my belief. Take it or leave it, but try not to tell me to choose what you have chosen for yourself for that would be 'wrong' for me. *smiles*

We've gone wrong because we've stopped caring about other people's feelings. I don't know when that happened; I've always cared.
