A doctor or midwife would already be able to feel this. You can't "feel" it moving up but you will be able to feel a little bump where it is.

Hi Honey. Yes, you are right. There is a point during your early pregnancy when the uterus rises up out of the lower pelvic cavity and actually relieves the constant pressure on the bladder. This occurs sometime during the second trimester. I am not exactly sure when....I will double check for you and edit this answer.
And "no" you do not actually feel this movement. It occurs so gradually that you do not feel it.
I do know that the relief as far as your bladder goes is short lived....before you know it the baby is so big that it is sitting on your bladder again and you will be making those nocturnal runs to the bathroom. I always thought of it as "mother-natures" way to get you used to waking up alot at night (and being able to go right back to sleep!). Take care of yourself dear and feel free to write to me anytime.
Love and Blessings

I felt some twinges around 12 weeks, I think that is more a case of the uterus getting into a new shape and tissue stretching etc, and yes the bump did get more noticeable then. But speak to your GP/ midwife. Everyone has a different experience.

Right around 10-12 weeks you can feel your uterus above your pubic bone. If you push your fingers in above the bone you can feel a little bump. That's your uterus. Your doctor should be feeling for it at each checkup. You don't actually feel it rising though. It just grows large enough that the fundus clears your pubic bone doesn't sit on your bladder anymore.

No you can't feel the rise of the uterus but you will feel your pelvic bone start to gradually push down. I couldn't really see my bump until I was 5 months pregnant. It was great when my bump finally showed though. I was able to wear all of my cute maternity clothes. Is this your first pregnancy? My sister said that after you have your first child your next pregnancy will show up sooner. IDK. Congrats and good luck.

From 12 weeks onwards the fundus can be felt above the pubic bone, so you might be able to feel a 'ridge' slightly above your pubic bone from now onwards. It is quite difficult to find, but can be done! You can feel this before you have a bump or before you show, because it takes a while before it starts to grow outwards rather than upwards.
This will gradually move up your abdomen until it is right up by your ribcage. When you go for ante natal appointments, the midwife will feel for the fundus and will measure the distance from the pubic bone to the top of the fundus.

My uterus is 24 inches at 24 weeks which is normal. I'm not sure when it starts rising .. but it gets to a point where it's 1 inch per week of pregnancy.

good luck! God bless!

You will be able to feel a "bump" from the amniotic sac surrounding the fetus before you begin to "show".
About 3 finger widths above your pelvis bone. Give it a try.
