Open the case and see where the sound comes from. It most probably comes from one of the two min fans inside it.

When you know which one is the one making noise, you have two options:

1. Put oil in it (just a bit)
2. (and the best one) buy one, i will cost you not more than $3 and it's more sure for your computer.

Be careful and change it, if it stops making noise it will mean that it has crashed and your computer will get really, really hot in a few minutes.

Most likely you have a bad fan. The two main fans are the power supply fan and the heat sink fan. Open your case. Listen to where the noise is coming from.

It could be one of the fans in your system; it could also be the hard drive. You'll probably need to open the case to determine which one it is; when you figure it out, replace the item, since the failure of any of them could cause the entire system to crash.

Good luck!

Agree with the others. That is either a fan, or the hard drive.
