A little history for you:
At 119 years old, the National Museum of Singapore is Singapore's biggest and oldest museum with the youngest and most innovative soul.
More than just a space for exhibitions and artefacts, the Museum will also distinguish itself through its challenging and vibrant festivals and events that will unleash new creative possibilities in culture and heritage.
With a rich history dating back to 1887, the National Museum of Singapore has been closed since April 2003 for redevelopment and will officially open in December 2006. From now till then, a series of Preview Season events have been lined up to entice visitors to take a peek of this prestigious cultural and heritage centre in Singapore.

How to get there:
1) By MRT
The nearest MRT stations are Dhoby Ghaut (NS24) & City Hall (EW13/NS25). The museum is a 10-minute walk from these MRT stations.
2) By Car
There are no parking facilities within the Museum's vicinity. The nearest parking facilities are located at Singapore Management University (SMU), Young Men's Christian Association of Singapore (YMCA), Fort Canning and Park Mall.
3) By Bus
Alight at bus stop nearest to YMCA or Stamford Road.
Take bus No. 17, 14E, 16, 36, 111, 124, 162, 174, 174E, 502, 77, 106, 167, 171, 190, 700, 700A.
