Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!
Dry skin won't tan as easily.
About 45%- 50% of the tanning rays
will bounce off your skin in a tanning both
if your skin isn't hydrated.

Not everyone tans. I have a friend who is very pale. She burns, it peels, and she doesn't tan, it just peels and she's pale white again. We are both naturally red haired. I burn and then tan, but very gradually. I read recently that any type of skin color change due to sun is skin damage and that although fairer people are more succeptible to skin cancer, those that tan are more likely to get it because they go out more often without the proper sun protection, or they continue to expose themselves because they want to tan. We should all be careful in the sun. If you don't tan, get a spray on tan or go to a salon that sprays one on, although these can turn you orange if you are that fair. I like neutragena for fair skin products and you have to really concentrate on rubbing it in, streaking is just something that happens with the fake tans if you don't take your time. Using a good exfoliating scrub before hand helps ! And don't forget to use that scrub on your hands when you are done ! Good luck !
