Scion's answer is totally out of focus...the Q isn't about Alexander; a famous gay I presume?; at all...

Yes, Greece and Constantinople were coneuered by the Ottoman Empire. But Greece had more than 1000 years of history being Christian...so they could remain that way, since Ottomans didnt really force them to change their religion. That's why their empire got so powerful. It was European Christians who forced their belief and murdered other races for their religion, not Muslims.

*Actually, Muslims didnt want their colonies to become Muslims because they cannot tax them if they become Muslim

Constantinople was an important city in economics and geography(it is built on the narrow way that connects Europe and Asia) so Turks kept improving it into a very advanced city...therefore many Muslims moved to the city, and Greecians living there had better chance to accepting Muslim and joining the leading class of Turks

Constantinople and Western Turkey had a substantial Greek population for centuries after the Ottoman conquest. The Greeks were driven out of W Turkey in 1923. There was a Transfer of populations at that time, but a lot of Greeks stayed in Istanbul till the trouble over Cyprus in the 1950s when they left. Now there are only about 4000 Greeks in Istanbul.
There is still a large population of Turks in Western Thrace in Greece. Don't forget them. The world seems to have. The Greeks oppress them.

on an analogous time as your examples related to muslim conquest and mosque construction in history are precise, I fail to work out how the Islamic cultural center 2 blocks from floor 0 is a conquest mosque. Now in the event that they have been construction on on the accual internet site of floor 0, then i'd be the 1st one to step up and burn it down.

Alexander the Great's Greek Empire-building was so successful because he didn't push his religion on the countries he conquered. If only the American Empire didn't push their religion of capitalism on the countries they are trying to conquer.
