scare us, no way, they had every intention of blowing themselves up and take as many other people with them, what really offends me is how much is this pointless trial costing and who's picking up the bill ? no doubt us tax payers, when if fact the Muslim community should be charged for the cost of this farce, then maybe in future they may be more willing to come forward and report any suspicions they have regarding their Muslim brothers !! OK that all sounds racist, but who else can the ordinary British public turn too ?

They wanted to scare the Brits along with causing as many deaths as possible. John F. Kennedy once wrote a book entitled, "Why England Slept". Let's hope that a new, revised edition is published because you fell asleep again in the face of imminent dangers.

JUST is an odd word - - - yes I am certain they intended to 'scare' Britain, that is part & parcel of War and some Wars have been won by fear backed with a bit of saber rattling - - - but the idea of giving a lenient sentence to someone because they set off a firecracker instead of an atomic bomb sort of defeats the idea of stomping out terrorism.

Peace.....

Their defence team will do their best to make them look naive and oblivious in order to reduce their potential sentence to the minimum. Their aim will be to prove you can't prosecute stupidity as badly as cold intent. Expect phrases like "weak minded" and "not understanding the gravity of what they have done" etc. Keep your fingers crossed that the jury are smart cookies and see right through it.

Not me..and you have to ask whether the defence barristers really believe that or are just taking the money.
It annoys me that people can hire someone to lie for them, to put the false case.
Surely these barrasters dont really believe this BS.

Dont believe it one bit, and I do wonder about how the defence teams of these type of trials, when its obvious they are guilty, sleep at night.

If these idiots were intent on scaring us they could have used the contents of a bonfire night firework.
As for their legal team you only have to witness our disgraced leader Blair and his wife to realise a lawyer will do anything for a little earner.

The defence team have an obligation to present the best defence for their clients.

You should be happy that if that's the best defence that they have, then justice will prevail.
