I can be heard ok by persons on the other end ie on msn, but i cant hear anything this end through my headphones. Headpones tested and working ok. I have 2 plugs on end of headphones, 1 black, 1 pink. Also the main cable running from my screen to the tower has a pink lead. I have tried going to control but the control says it does not reconise my device, please help, i am new to computors and I just phoned up a man who wants a fortune to come to me to fix it.

In MSM Messenger click tools then Audio/ video setup, run the wizard that starts paying notice to the microhone page. Is there more than 1 audio input device and if so have you picked the right one? The pink lead from your monitor is either a built in microphone or a mic socket on the monitor. Best to plug your headset directly into your sound card, black plug in green socket and red plug in pink socket.
