I am getting close to getting my MA and I live near NYC. I would really like to get away from the city and start over in a new place, preferally not a big city, but not a small hick town either. I was looking at Sugar Land, TX and would love some other suggestions. Anyone been through Montana or Wyoming? Area of the country doesn't matter much, but I don't care much for the insane heat in the deep south.

it's hick town? money mag. picked it as the 3rd best place in the US to live and it is in one of the fastest growing counties in the US, so I thought there were lots of opportunities there. Guess I was wrong.

Check out Longview or Tyler, Texas. Sugar Land is sort of a hick town and it does get hot there.

I would suggest a strong republican state ... why not Texas ? Additionally this man of genius (G. W. Bush) had so many successful business experiences that I think you should start there.
