I think they could because, as they have been depicted as having the power of reason then, it's possible to come up with an agreement of what each will allow to happen before retaliation and retribution.

No. Humans are selfish, greedy, violent and fear what is different. We can't get along with the guy down the street because he has a different skin tone, or he doesn't like girls the same way we do or they speak a different language. How could we possibly get along with a completely different species.
How could we accept not being the dominant species? What could we exploit the dragons for?
No there is know way we could live peacefully with dragons, there is just too much we could blame them for.

1: Depends.
2: There are over 9 different types of dragons (all usually related to a color, or a metal) Some are evil, some are good.
Plus, you should have stated which time period. If it was the current time, then no. People have enough power in the world to destroy them completely. (Which might have actually happened already. I lean more to the theory that they didn't die from human beings, though.) If you said Medieval, or around that time, then probably so, because that's what history told us. Plus they don't really have the power to destroy them completely.

It relies upon on how greater people and dragons are. Dragons ought to look down on a miniscule human and picture....yummy SNACK! Then munch us down with some water. yet whilst shall we communicate in the comparable language or grow to be telepathic perhaps shall we live on the area of one yet another, and stay peacefully. yet we would be to diverse in our ideals or too sturdy to eat to be friends with. additionally how long we've lived with one yet another, and how we manage one yet another ought to be yet another determining factor.

they could but have not.
look at history in the Europa
then again in china they did.
now now a days if they were still alive then we might be able to help breed them using technology to catch them and help the population. but even that would not go well people would still try to kill them.
'
sad...I would love for dragons to be alive today
