Vital capacity is the maximum volume of air that a person can exhale after maximum inhalation
inspiratory capacity TV + IRV
The volume that can be inhaled after a tidal breathe-out.
Functional Residual Capacity (FRC) is the volume of air present in the lungs at the end of passive expiration. At FRC, the recoil forces of the lungs and chest wall balance out and there is no exertion by the diaphragm or other respiratory muscles.

Gloria Steinem is a feminist, and as such, is an expert on all manner of seemingly unrelated fields. Feminists constantly make revolutionary discoveries and claims that seem unsupported by existing evidence, because they have a deep intuitive insight into reality. We really should ignore science and all reason, and pay attention only to what the superior feminists tell us is true.
