Yamaha Road Stars or V-Stars are available in abundance. I was installing MOT computers a couple of years ago and every motorcycle dealer I went to had at least one. They aren't great but they are cheap cos dealer's are almost giving them away.

I was in the market for an ST1300.
I disliked my local Honda/Yamaha dealer. They will not allow you to test ride any bikes. Sorry, but I can't spend $15000 and then find out I don't like the bike.

I ended up going to the local BMW dealer and buying a 2004 K1200RS. I was able to take the bike on a long test ride and that sealed the deal for me. Factory heated grips, electronic cruise control and ABS - no regrets.

I'm looking for a sport tourer myself. I've been looking at the Yamaha FJ 1300ABS. I don't think I need to spend the extra $2K-$2.5K for the electronic shift. Seems to be alot more info about the Yamaha. The Honda appears to ba a bit more obscure. The yam has a power adjustable windshield, it's a great feature to adjust for different speeds.
