Most of them raise money for charity and to take care of their old and sick members. The secret is their handshakes, the way they march around the room, and little speeches they memorize.
I belong to Eastern Star and Daughters on the Nile. Not technically secret societies because we want everyone to know about us, but they're sororities in that they have secret signs & passwords that only members are allowed to know.
