if u know some computer hardware company try it to sell it there are parts which can be reused, if u just want to dipose of it just gave them for free, i am sure they will be very happy to take it.
if this is not the case, if u can open the rear disconnect the crt tube from the power supply and then throw it away. or just cut the power cord and dispose it.
once the crt tube is broken the vacum in is destroved so it will not work an there is no harm. only the power supply is the main corcern.
I'm an computer engineer, that is why i known alll this. dont worry we throw a lot of junk like this.

Break the neck, the thin part at the back of the CRT and then deliver it to your local tip

if you live in the EU the 'wee directive' will make it he responsibility of the manufacture ror the vendor to get rid of it in an environmentally friendly manner so maybe it will be worth holding on to it 'till that is implemented .

Contact the garbage company and they can tell you when they recycle pick up for computers and such.
