1 season of 22 episodes (cut short due to a writer's strike) and 6 seasons of 26 episodes each which equals one hundred and seventy eight.

This assumes that you count the two hour pilot episode "Encounter as Farpoint" as two episodes and you count the two hour finale "All Good Things" in the same way. They both orginally aired as one episode, but for later repeat "syndication" screenings they are usually split into two parts to fit the one hour TV slot. So you could argue the number is really 176.
