Q: What is the success rate for IUI?

A: Searching through about a dozen medical journal articles and a number of web sites resulted in a rather wide range of statistics. Basically the odds of success are reported to be just under 6 percent and as high as 26 percent per cycle. The low statistics are with one follicle, while multiple follicles resulted in as high 26 percent success. Another influencing factor is sperm count. Higher sperm counts increase the odds of success; however, there was little difference between success with good-average counts and those with high counts. The overall success rate seems to be between 15-20 percent per cycle, judging from the articles which will be abstracted below. The rate of multiple gestation pregnancies is 23-30 percent.

I have a positive story for you! I have the most beautiful 7 year old - conceived through IUI. All tests concluded infertility of unknown cause. We'd been trying for 7 years. I did my research & decided that as there was nothing "wrong" & I was ovulating, that there was no need for stimulating drugs - this went against the "wishes" of my consultant who said it would never work - but IT DID on the first attempt. If you accept that it's just a case of egg & sperm meeting in the right place at the right time, it's relatively easy! I had to do ovulation predictions & what I found was that when I was ready, the hospital weren't free to do the proceedure - but were happy to suggest that I came in a few days time! Each time of course, I declined as there is NO point once that window of opportunity has passed. I stuck to my guns & eventually, the time came when the ovulation test was positive, they were free. I went in - the deed was done. I went home & watched the Indiana Jones trilogy with my feet up for the day. 9 months later, I had everything I'd dreamed of. Good luck - if you do your homowork, you'll do fine!

IUI treatment is very cheap in India. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.

My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

hi HoneyB1, i'm dealing with this superb comparable selection suited now. I merely have been given observed an RE and that i admire her. we've been TTC for a 12 months now and that i'm 37. i do no longer ovulate on my own. i've got not got PCOS. we are suspecting a pituitary subject and could examine into that greater next cycle. i began out clomid in Feb and function lengthy previous with the aid of 3 cycles (50 mg, 50 mg, one hundred mg). I went into the RE soliciting for injectables because of the fact my obgyn suggested the clomid did no longer artwork this cycle- he did no longer see any follicles. That replace into the 2nd month in a row and that i replace into having distinctive soreness with the clomid, so i did no longer desire to have that soreness if I wasn't even becoming any follicles. The RE did an ultrasound and he or she disagreed. We shown with a progesterone attempt to located that I did ovulate this cycle - it merely ought to have been in the previous than envisioned. So we can proceed with one hundred mg of clomid this month and he or she would be in a position to do ultrasounds quicker. She replace into attempting to inspire us to do timed intercourse. My hubby has sturdy swimmers too. yet i rather think of i desire the main suitable opportunities a possibility, so we are going with the IUI plus timed intercourse. i'm in CA and the IUI will fee us $363. i'm undecided how lots the sperm washing will fee yet. this is out of pocket for us as nicely, yet i've got faith like we could save money in the lengthy run b/c it might desire to take fewer cycles. The paperwork she gave me suggested that the IUI have been given one hundred fold greater sperm into the uterus than intercourse does. the only greater suitable steps with the IUI are that they wash a sperm pattern and then inject it immediately into the uterus with the aid of a tiny catheter that is going in the direction of the cervix. it is not meant to be painful. no longer something lots greater suitable than a pap smear. In CA, state regulation required that my husband get blood artwork performed to insure that he would not have HIV, Hepatitis, Syphillus (sp?), and a pair different issues. sturdy success and many infant dirt to us all :)
