Does anyone know how to bleach peacock feathers?

Thanks. It is possible as ebay sells bleached peacock feathers. I have so many feathers here i don't want to buy more, just bleach the ones i have. ta

You can't bleach peacock feathers but you can dye them. I doubt that you would want to be exposed to the fumes of industrial dyes at home though! Household bleach would simply destroy the feathers. It may be that you just need to buy the industrially dyed ones.

According to what I've found out so far you can't bleach Peacock feathers but you can dye them. This site has a nice range of dyed feathers -

If you really want to bleach them, try using a very weak solution and applying with a soft toothbrush or soft small paintbrush so as not to damage the plumes. I would be interested to know how you get on if you could please let me know. Thanks :)

What you're finding at are feathers that have been taken care of with a non commercial bleaching agent (chlorine bleach will fall apart them) one the colour has been bumped off they're then re dyed the place needed.

i don't know if they bother. I've seen white peacocks before.
