Freedom is a basic need by all human beings. It allows for cultural growth and expansion far beyond a comparable situation where freedom does not exist.

But freedom is a fleeting concept. Governments always strive to control their people and the result is loss of freedom.

In the USA for example, freedom is slowly eroding away as the government pushes to gain more and more control. Take property rights for example. The Constitution clearly states the people have the right to own property but this has been changed now to the meaning that the people have the right to own property if they pay taxes on it. Otherwise, it's taken away from you and given to someone else that agrees to pay taxes on it. That's a loss of the right to own property.

But it's not only property rights being lost. There are other rights under attack as well and being eroded.

In time, the USA will be a poor example of a free country and a bad place to live and as a result, will lose it's place in the world as a superpower. It's only good now because the other countries in the world are much worse.

because having freedom means to be on your on feet.it means that you are your own master, the master of your destiny, means that no one can harm you anyhow, means that you can live your life ,means thatnoone can stop you from doing what you want, means that you are free from fear and that you are a human being and not a chained dog.having freedom is a feeling that can not be expressed in words.this is the importance of freedom thus it matters more than life itself.

My Grandfather came from behind the "Iron Curtain." They told you were to live. Where to work. Took everything. They gave back almost nothing. If you didn't like it you kept it to yourself or you were put in prison or simply disappeared. I would rather fight than live like that.
