According to recent news report, the cost of a 1st-class postage stamp will be going up to 41 cents sometime this year.

Considering the cost of sending a letter by Pony Express was initially $5 per 1/2 oz, dropping to $1 toward the demise of the Pony Express, 41 cents seems a fair price today. I realize there are people my age, 66, who remember when the price of a 1st-class stamp was 5 cents; but, I also remember when you could buy a gallon of gasoline for 25 cents. In the late 50's, "gas wars" even dropped a gallon of gas to 19 cents!

Most likely in May, 07 ...BUT..."they" are going to sell an "everything" stamp that will carry the cost over forever if you buy the "forever" stamp... currently, no price has yet been determined for the "everything" stamp...
