I am having a hard time with owning two chinchillas, because since then I have had two babies, and I have my hands full. I am now looking sadly to get rid of at least one of them to help with the stress. Any ideas?

Post a note at your Veterinarian's office.

Donate him to a local Zoo.

Check the yellow-pages in you local phone book for ideas.
Call some pet stores and ask what they suggest, etc.

Post a note on Craig's List.

Run an ad in the classified section of your local newspaper for a free chinchilla to good home. I had one and I called a local petting zoo. They came and got it and were glad to have it. They really don't make very good pets but they're very interesting to see at a zoo. I love the way they take their little dust baths. Good luck.

Are they a bonded pair or separated? If they are bonded best to keep both. But if they are separated find a good chinchilla rescue that will take good care of one or both and find good homes.

you can find a good rescue at or even help finding a forever home.
