personally i do..my brother thinks he is rubbish!! think he is v good at scenes on his own such as castaway!

not good, BRILLIANT!!! i loved forrest gump,cast away,the terminal and many more...the thing is,he delivers his charcters in a way that everyone can understand and cope with,i think that's why he always makes me cry.. ;-p

Ohhhhhh YES! He's one of my top actors - versatile & unfaltering. Never seen him in a bad part. I know he got a slating for the Da Vinci Code but having read the book - he played the part exactly as it was written. My favourites have been Castaway, Big, Forrest Gump & The Polar Express which is my favourite Christmas film of all time. Although it is a computer generated animation, he "played" 7 parts in it & it's a brilliant triumph of acting. In "The Terminal", he was so funny but touching at the same time - brilliant accent - a lovely film! I look forward to Angels & Demons coming out soon. I think your brother is probably a bit delusional - Tom Hanks is brilliant!

Tom Hanks is a brilliant actor,totally believable,his role in Philadelphia was the best I've ever seen him in,you completely forget that its tom hanks,he is different in every one of his films,which in my opinion is what separates the really good actors from the entertainers,such as tom cruise,who always plays the same predictable character,also the terminal and forest gump were fantastic displays of his talent.

He is very good. But as many actors, he also played in bad movies. What about Forrest Gump, The green line, Saving private Ryan, Castaway.... A fine actor

I couldn't stand Tom Hanks until I saw him in forest Gump, he was excellent, Then I watched castaway and I realised he really is a good actor, I mean he was the only character in it, and it was a popular film so he must have been doing something right.

Yes he is a wonderful actor, one exception the only film he has been in I did not care for was Castaway, no disrespect . Had the chance once several years ago to meet him and he is genuinely nice down to earth fellow. Your brother just does not have good taste (no disrespect to him either) :-)

I think its hit and miss with him. Hes had some really great films ( Big, Forest Gump, The Green MIle) and some aweful ones in my opinion too (Castaway, Road to Perdition.) He is a very likeable actor in most of his roles, but i find him boring in others. I'm half and half!

I think Tom Hanks is a legend a very good actor, one of his best is Road To Perdition an absolute classic

He's one of my all time favorites especial after I saw Castaway how many actors could have done that expect for maybe Johnny Depp

Years ago I used to think Tom Hanks was just dumb. but he really had "grown up to be a fine actor now" Usually some one is a great actor then it goes the other way..
