Someone gave me a thumbs down for answering, "Peace on Earth," what's up with that? What is the World coming to?

keep your optimistic outlook.

they probably just misread and thought it said "p*ss on earth".
and then so disturbed by that thought, they gave thumbs down.

peach on earth.

Yes, I've seen this too. You try your best to answer a question and someone gives you a thumbs down. Take heart though. Some people go through and just mark thumbs down on everyone else's answer, just because they think it makes their answer look better.

What do you bet I get a thumbs down on this one?

At least it wasn't a violation. I can't see the context of your answer, so I don't know why. Some people don't like flippant answers. I don't mind at all.

I wouldn't worry about thumbs down. It doesn't mean much.

anyway:-

Peace on Earth.

Maybe they thought you meant peas on earth and gave you a thumbs down 'cause they like beans ;-)

There are people on this site who seem to get gratification from giving thumbs down to fair answers. Anyway, peace to you.

PS See what I mean?

I've always loved it when I've given an honest answer from the bottom of my heart, and people thumbs down me. SEE What I Mean? LOL!!!

I think it's someone on a mission this morning!
There we go, I've given everyone a thumbs up just to sway the balance a little!

I don't know... what was the question?

I mean, if they were asking how to get more gas mileage on their car or how to paint their house or something, then I would say you deserved it. It is "answers", after all, not "happy greetings".

But, if they were asking about what you wish for before you go to sleep, or what you want for Christmas or something, then they were just being a douche.

Hope this helps!
