A snow storm caused a tree branch to partially separate my power line. I had lights but other things wouldn't work. When I got the line repaired the fridge turned on but has stopped cooling. Burned out compressor? It sounds like it cycles on but quickly turns off. Is this repairable at reasonable cost? Thanks in advance.

more likely the solenoid burned out.
the thermostat may also need checking.

Mine happened last week and I found that compressor was out of gas ... I ended up buying new ,but it is more expensive for labor fees and replacement . Plus I did not have warranty because I bought from the third party. Also, I turned the fridge off for awhile and I replugged it, suddenly it was cooling but not enough cooling and freezing. Also, it was making so much noise.

The compressor is probably bad, it will be cheaper to replace the whole fridge. You can contact your insurance company too.
