Lots of people claim that they play rock n' roll, but they don't. The true rock n'roll was from the 50s. Chuck Berry, and Elvis Presely sang true rock n' roll. I'm just sick of any group from the 70s or the 80s claiming to be rock n' rollers when they aren't.

No I don't. If you read about the History of Rock and Roll you wouldn't even ask this question.

You have a valid point, but you're argument is really only the about label you put on the music. Most people from the 70's and 80's play different sub-genres of the original rock and roll. (Punk Rock, Heavy Metal, Progressive Rock, Arena Rock, Album Oriented Rock, Garage Rock...etc...for eternity).

Rock and roll is a living and evolving thing. Elvis and Chuck Berry did not invent it. They mixed influences from blues, country, jazz, and gospel. It has been evolving ever since. It is now the most diverse music in the world.
