Where did they get it? And what should they do to prevent it? Should they have themselves checked for other STis as well?

I had it in 1974. Got it from my first wife, who got it God knows where. We'd been separated and she'd had a rather "active" social life.

Prevention is simple. Don't screw around. Use protection. If you have a partner who is indiscreet, consider changing partners. If not use protection.

Yes, you should be checked for other STD's. The standard cure for gonnorhea is enough penicillin to kill a horse. That will usually take out syphillis if it happens to be keeping company with gonnorhea.

The penicillin the Air Force gave me even cured a cold I had. Good stuff, unless you're allergic to it. Then I don't know what you do.

Best prevention is discretion. If your partner doesn't have it you should.

I think one has to "upgrade" on the company they keep! I believe I once read that these venereal diseases are treatable but not curable! They can reoccur at any given time! Not a good thing my friend!
