Totally possible, and for a healthy BDSM relationship to flurish it needs to be present

Ill use us an example:
We began our relationship as lovers established our boundries what each other likes etc etc all the good stuff. After that and the love IS THERE did we even think about any D/S. Iam submissive by nature so to me I feel quickly into role (i just came out of a relationship where i was the Dom and was not happy) for him it takes a while to realize whats going on.

Also someone mentioned BDSM is not rape nor is it leather, chains and whips all the time. You can be submissive w/o all the gear being submissive is a mind set.

The only time i would say that love does not play a key role is in 24/7 power exchange relationship.

It is definately possible.
What many people don't understand is that S&M is not rape. It's a very fine-tuned connection between two partners. Sex is part of it, but like any relationship it relies on the sexual tastes of the partners. Most of the action happens in the bedroom, but outside the people are as normal as anyone. However, and this is also common in non-S&M relationships, one partner is usually more dominant in certain decision making processes while the other appears more submissive. Stress the word 'appear.' A submissive may seem meek, but they set the pace for the relationship. The Dominant relies on them in order to be dominant, so in a way he/she must also please the submissive (an unhappy submissive can find a new dominant.) The submissive has many subliminal and indirect ways of influencing the Dominant, and the best example of this is in the movie 'The Secretary.' The submissive/dominant dynamic is very common in couples, whether they do or don't practice S&M. So such a relationship is perfectly feasible.

Many people are in relationships like that and they do have deep and intense love between them. People who say that it is impossible generally don't understand those relationship styles.

I am a submissive transsexual. By my being submissive there are no arguments about about anything.
