a lot of people tease me for the way i refer to them. Dad and Baba.

is it weird to call one of my dads Baba. i mean, it is what he tols me and my brother to call him, but now that i think about it....it isn;t exactly common for a man to be called Baba.

dont get me wrong. i am not embarrassed by what i call him. i just want to know yourr oppinion.

if you are a gay man, married and have kids what do they call you and your spouse?

No sweat kid. No matter what you have for parents, there will be people who will try to make you feel small. It makes them feel good about themselves, as hollow as that might be.

I had two sets of parents. My mother left the family when I was two-- the youngest of four kids. My father left the two left by the time I was 8 in an orphanage. My second set of parents were a bit harsh-- alcoholism-- a mild form but they would become bitter and practicing what was described as 'double-barring' to me by a counsellor.

So my life wasn't what other people have. But it is what I had. I was a kid, and didn't have much to say about it.

What you seem to have is two people that want to take care of yuo. I hope that they listen to you when yuo speak. If they do then you are better off than I was, be happy about that!

Your friends are the one's who do not treat you poorly. They want you to come along with them to do things. That's what to focus on. Those that have good things for you. I would try not to focus on those that don't.

If you and your brother are comfortable with it, then there is no problem. If this is in private. If you are with friends, introduce them as your dads. They may not understand the nickname he was given. I also do not know your age, but there is an age where you start calling them dad or father usually. Unless you want something, then Baba would come back.
Do what makes you comfortable.

Don't let what people say to you get the best of you. If thats what you choose to call your dad, then thats your choice, and if your not embarassed by it, tell them to kiss your ***.

who cares what you call him for as long as it speaks of respect, love, and endearment to that person.
it's not on the word. it's your sincerity and how you mean it that counts.
