I am 14 and a pool party is coming up. My period has been due since the past week, but I haven't had it yet.

Tampons are the most relaxing & most freeing way of covering the days you have your period.
If you are late & a pool party is coming up, then relax!
But if you haven't tried them before, practice using some prior.
You may need to use lubrication & use mini tampons to begin with.
Have fun at the Party!

I think so, the people at school and my mom told me to wear pads for the first year then if I wanted to you can try tampons. So, I guess so. But my aunt says it's not safe to have stuff like that in you body because instead of letting the blood out it is collecting it. I dont really know but I am just passing on info given to me

I got my period when I was 12 and was on the swim team for 6 years (until I was 18) and I never once had a problem. Just be sure to put a new one in right before you go and check semi-frequently to change out. It also helps that in case of a "problem" to wear a dark swim suit.

Just remember also to keep the string inside the swimsuit. That can be very embarassing if you don't.

Yes, they are safe if they are inserted correctly. You shouldn't feel them when they are. I would suggest that you be careful when swimming. You may still have to change it once you get out of the pool or they may leak if water gets to them. You vagina is not water proof. But if you don't swim, you should be fine. Follow the directions on the carton.
Have fun at the party!

Yes they're safe. And a hell of a lot better than pads. Have fun at the pool party.

No, they are highly radioactive which causes radiation sickness from the gamma rays bombarding your reproductive tissue. Although radiation is used by cancer patients, this specific type of radiation is harmful. Just like chemotherapy it could cause your hair to fall out.

I seriously hope you have not used one. Especially Kotex brand, as they are the most fissile.

Ask your mom. Some parents don't want their children wearing tampons at an early age.

I would try using one a day before you go and see if you are comportable with them. I cannot wear them because it makes me sick and dizzy. Tampons can cause toxic shock syndrome especially if left in too long. Check out this website :
