Yep, I total agree. If Sony remade this game into the e3 quality video shown at E3, I’m pity positive the PS3 would sell in no time.
Personal I would buy the console just to play that game in next generation graphics.
Hop over to Neoseeker.com and select Psone and the Final Fantasy vii forum – they are mad over their and I was once a member and I’m pretty positive that the ff7 forum is still the top forum on the Psone board with plenty of posts begging for a remake.
With DMC4 been confirmed for the 360, it’s no surprise that Sony fans are a bit worried because the PlayStation only has the RPG left.
I remember hearing that it would take 5 years for a remake to be made, but many fans believe that their will be something this December (2007) confirming that Square is remaking ff7 but don’t hold your breath because these events tend to be a disappointment.

I don't know about lose, but here's what I think. If Final Fantasy 7 is remade, the world will flock to it. As FF7 took PS1 by storm 10 years ago, a remake would only do the same for the PS3. The question is, where is Square Enix's loyalty now? After Final Fantasy 13, the deal between Sony and them is up. So, why make Final Fantasy 7 for the PS3 unless a ton of money was thrown their way?
In any case, it is probably one of the most economically influential games to date. If it were rereleased for the DreamCast, I bet the console would come back. =P So, I agree. If FF7 was remade for PS3, it would probably win the war. FF13 will do a lot as it is, FF7? It'll only bring the fans back to Sony. I don't think Sony wants to throw out that much money for that kind of commitment though, we'll have to see. I would recommend it, but I don't think Square Enix will be swayed right now, they even said it themselves about not supporting one console only. . .
I don't necessarily see Sony winning this race, but I don't see them necessarily losing. It's really undefined. I know the Wii is going strong right now, but PS3 hasn't shipped any big or known titles. I'm betting when MGS4 comes out, things will turn. Besides, Nintendo fans are very loyal, it is obvious they would get a soar of sales in the beginning. The question is whether or not it will stay.
It all relies on the back of a few games, but if FF7 was in the picture, I would have no doubts in PS3's victory.

I totally agree with Elian and the rest. They should remake FF7 for ps3. I love FF series since the first on nintendo, when they switch to sony i got myself a ps1. Then i got myself a ps2, soon i am buying a ps3. Sony need to do something, if Final Fantasy switch to other console for future release, i might forget about buying ps3.

not really. except the fact that snes and regular nintendo did a couple of final fantasy games ps2 is the one that really sold the whole final fantasy franchise and with two new final fantasy games coming out on the ps3 there really is no reason to remake ff7 (accept the fact that it would be freakin awesome) but i personally think that sony should redo ff7 just because it would sell and it would be alot better on the new systems. but that is my thoughts on it

i think with the success that final fantasy 12 and final fantasy 7: dirge of cerberus had on the PS2 they should really consider making ff7 again because in my opinion and i sure alot of other people will agree FF7 was the best FF game that was ever made. they should really make it i know i would buy it.

they are thinking of remaking it for the ps3. currently there is a rumor going on that they are making a demo of ff7 for ps3 and all the characters will have either the advent children costume or the original. If the demo goes well they might remake it for the ps3

I don't think we will see FFVII any time soon. That teaser trailer seen with Cloud at E3 some time ago was a way to show the PS3's superior power.

FFVII had it's time and place. Why remake it, when you can just play the original? Besides, remakes are never the same. I'm happy with the original copy that I have.

Try to post your question at http://forum.gamesquare.ca .The site is all about games its pretty new people there can answer you. Its free to join.
I would say YES! Seeing how other games like Kingdom Hearts have Cloud and Sephiroth in it, Square knows how much people like them. The question is which company will pay enough to bring the game to their system :P
