The distance between your eye and the image of the butterfly in the mirror is:

54 cm + 2 (18) cm = (54 + 36) cm = 90 cm.

This is because in addition to the 54 cm from your eye to the real butterfly, there's 18 cm further to the mirror's surface itself, then yet another 18 cm to the butterfly's image, which is 18 cm "behind the mirror."

Live long and prosper.
