My girlfriend recently quit smoking about a month ago. Now her period is delayed by 9 or 10 days. Could this be caused by going cold turkey on the smokes? I'm trying to look for other possibilities other than the probability of her being pregnant.

she should just take a home pregancy test to find out if shes pregnant....i have never heard of a period being late from quitting smoking due to abcence of nicotine, but maybe the "stress" from quitting has affected her, i suppose thats possible

How long have you been quit? I quit cold turkey for almost 4 years and then begin dating someone who smoked and I picked it right back up like I had never stopped. You may not want to judge people that can't stop until you now their story. being away from smokers helps in the quest to stop, but if you find yourself surrounded by smokers, you just might start back!
