why? i did not want to know about their lives like that. now i cannot talk with them anymore. what can i do? should i overlook them?

I suggest you try to overcome it.
They may have meant well by trusting you. Perhaps they really needed to unload. Be grateful they trust you that much.
So long is it isn't illegal, dangerous, or totally disgusting, be mature enough to overlook it this time. But, if ever they start to do it again, just look straight at them and say, "Hold it, I think you are about to tell me things I would rather not know."
That will tell them you prefere some secrecy/privacy and that you are setting limits as to what you will/ will not accept for "friendly secrets".

You should tell them what youre feeling and ask them if its okay to take a break and then after that you remain their friend. Just assure them that their secret is safe with you and then take time to find out why this is affecting you so much. Try to understand the situation and move past it.

Tell both of them that you do appreciate the trust that they have in you, but that you feel uncomfortable being stuck in the middle of their relationship. Tell them you don't like to be made that you are being played one-against-the-other. Don't overlook them, just when you're uncomfortable, tell them how you feel. If they are friends, they will respect your decisions.

This is information that you never asked for, they told you anyway. Some people feel that if they share, you are instant friends without realizing they can be your friend without skeeving you with too much information!
It's up to you, write them off and be done with them, or go to them and tell them you don't need to know about certain things. Depends on how much you value the friendship...
