you can but with diffiulty the best thing is an expoxy resin based glue like araldite you can buy this in B&Q. it is a 2 part glue that reacts with one another to create the bond

I'm mostly familiar with polymer clay, not earth clay, but I would suspect that you might want to try a polyurethane glue like Gorilla Glue... it's easily available, and will glue most anything to anything, and is very strong (can even be used to glue concrete).
The one thing to keep in mind is that it will swell somewhat as it cures so the two parts must be clamped together (perhaps using a belt clamp for a dish shape?) or you'll see the glue where it's swelled. The instructions should be on the bottle, but I'd assume you'd wipe off any glue that began oozing out and perhaps wouldn't use too much glue in the first place.
Good luck!

superglue isnt so great for something as porous as clay. I would use titebond or elmers since it has more bulk to it that would be good for porous surfaces. I have used elmer's in the past and it worked great and dries clear.

if its in big pieces like broke in 2 or 3 pieces then yeah any super glue would work, but if it broke into a bunch of small pieces then dont bother, just throw the piece out.

i reckon the best glue would be contact adhesive.simply apply to both areas allow to nearly dry then push them together . it will seal the clay and form a very strong bond.b&q/homebase all sell it .

I think you need to moisten the surfaces before you apply the superglue.
