I live in Mumbai. Let me tell you that when I first came to city 8 years ago, I faced no problems. Infact, Most people I came across- and from all walks of life, were considerate and helpful. Mumbaites are hard working, professional and extremely hard pressed for time. It may be due to paucity of time, that people living here APPEAR to be unfriendly , but that is hardly a reason to call them mean and scary. Mumbai is safer than all the other Metro cities.
We live in tough times, and every place has its own share of unethical and criminal people. But that does not mean that Mumbai is mean, scary and dangerous place. Please don't fall for such heresay and rumours.

Mumbai is not what you think and heard. It is a busy place and people are busy on thier own errands. So is everyone in all the big cities. It is not dangerous but you should be wary of con people. If you look new and innocent, then they may take advantage of you. Each city has its own dark side. But in general, Mumbai is not so bad as what you heard.

I am a Mumbaikar since the past 35 years and do not think that it is mean and scary. Here in Mumbai, we may be a little too tied up with our own humdrum of life, but we sure make time in case people are genuinely in need. Mumbai, being cosmopolitan, you will find people of all states living here. You have to learn to survive and not get cheated at times but other than that, Mumbai is welcoming and a great place to live in.

You heard about the place and you believed it? Come to mumbai buddy. There's no place like it. The level of co-operation goes to extremes. I remember, during the last floods in Mumbai, even the slum dwellers came out to provide clean drinking water, and food to some people around. Mumbai recovered from series of bomb blasts hours after the incident.
Their language may be a bit rough, but co-operation is gr8.

Gentleman, your observations are totally wrong.Actually Mumbai is the real face of India. Have you lived in Mumbai any time before ? Experience the stay.

well, mumbai's not a city of mean and scary people. if u have really bin following news reports and hearsay, u should that mumbaikaars, are very compatible with each other. They don't really go around warmly or polite, but when u really need the neighbours- they're there. it's not dangerous for innocent people. even if it is, then u r the one who is 22222222 innocent. for this world.

You are not correct Mumbai is only city in the country ,original Mumbai wala are helpful, kind & religious.
