The carrion beetles are a group of beetles from the family Silphidae. They are important for recycling animal remains.
Carrion can be a source of disease.

Carrion is the term for the dead and rotting body of an animal, which is unfit for human consumption. Some birds, such as crows and vultures, eat carrion, which is important since they help 'clean up' this dead material.
